Status of Myth

I thought I read on this board that it was closing at the end of the month-but I made an OpenTable reservation for Apil 4 and it went thru.
The website is not functioning so I really couldn't get a grip on the menu-but the recs on this board looked great so I thought I'd chance it.

  1. Myth is suppose to be closed. I had a reservation for April through Opentable that I booked in March and they called and canceled the reservation. I noticed that restaurant shows up in Opentable but I am wondering if that is a mistake. You may want to call the restaurant to verify.

        I just spoke with the restaurant, as of right now they are scheduled to be open until April 12.

          Hmmmm, maybe I should cancel? With the imminent closing, no reason for staff to be on their game. Any comments?

            That was my feeling when I cancelled my reservation for this last Saturday. I've eaten at restaurants that are scheduled to close and they've always been "off" -- in the case of Myth, the pastry chef is already gone. Their website is up now, though, if you want to look at the menu.

              I suspect the remaining employees are working on keeping the place open until a sale can go through in hopes of keeping their jobs. It would be insane to close such a successful place. Opentable shows the place is still fully booked.

                Open Table is not always a good indicator of how fully a place is booked. When I made my reservation, Open Table showed it as fully booked for weeks, but when I called I was offered several different times (although not between 7 and 8:30) for both a Friday and Saturday night.

                  Indeed. Most places do not offer all of their tables on OpenTable.com

                I ate there in Feb. and the food was still on top of its game. I went again in early March with some friends and the food had fallen off considerably. Based on my experience in March I would not risk going again until things get ironed out with the new owners.
