What else is like Green Zebra?

I went to Green Zebra years back and loved it! I am going out to celebrate my birthday in Chicago and would love to wowed by another fantastic place. We are a party of two, and one is a vegetarian the other is a fish-vegetarian. Any ideas? We can go anywhere in the city and would like to spend up to $75 a person.

Well, the same guy (Chef Shawn McClain) also runs Custom House (lots of meat, not good for you two) and Spring - a seafood based place with what appears to be one vegetarian main - I'm sure they'd take care of you if you explained that one of you is vegetarian when you placed your reservation.

I don't know if I'm out of line with this one, but I think you'd do okay at Blackbird....different ambiance, but outstanding food:

They too have a vegetarian entree and plenty of fish - same deal, I'd mention that you're vegetarian when you make a reservation.
