Hi...I'm (sort of) new to the site.

CatyL Mar 25, 2008 12:22 PM

I discovered the "chow" site a couple of months ago, while researching places to buy Italian tuna. This is the first day that I have re-visited, and I'm delighted to find a SF Bay Area regional board. I grew up, here, and try not to be an obnoxious native. I don't eat-out on a regular basis, but I like to cook and shop for great ingredients at the best prices. I will share what I can...and look forward to learning a lot.

Welcome! I look forward to learning from you as well. I also like to cook at home and source great and unusual ingredients.

And do post to the General Chowhounding Topics board (http://www.chowhound.com/new_posts/27 ) with your recs on Italian tuna! Every since Chowhound turned me on to Italian tuna I've never looked back.

Unfortunately for me, I'll never know the joy you have experienced with Italian tuna, my cats, legendarily discriminating consumers of tuna, and superior beings to lowly humans, will not allow me to purchase any tuna except the English speaking kind...

Your kitties are wisely trying to save you money ($ down) to invest in artificial mousies...We must bow down to their brilliance - at least that is the way we do at our house! Mine just love the tuna water so much, that I can't open tuna in oil in the house. If they smell tuna & don't get the the water immediately it is not pretty.

Too funny! Fortunately the one on my lap when I brought the link up was not the smartest bulb on the tree. If it had been any of the others they would be drafting their document now...
