Delivery places in Bloor West Village

Hi All,

Looking for some new delivery places in Bloor West Village, specifically close to Jane & Bloor.

We're familiar with Classico and think they're pretty decent but it's the same menu all the time.

Interested in something other than Chinese/Thai, we've got loads of ads to pick from for these guys.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Bruce

  1. I have 2 solid go-tos.

Sushi - you can order from Sushi2Go which delivers to Bloor West from their Kingsway location. For sushi delivery..well, it's fantastic. I have never been disappointed by anything. Full menus online, with limited ability for non-sushi lover to find something.

Thai - Unfortunately for you with a lot of Thai in mind already, Green Mango is my other solid delivery pick. Very appetizing, and extremely reliable 10 - 15 minute turnaround if you can go yourself to get.

The search for other good delivery in the area continues though...Queen's Pasta is awfully good, but no delivery I think.

Where can I find the menus online?

a great thai place that delivers is Sukho Thai. look them up on chowhound. they have solid thai food that is delicious. the wait is pretty long though so give them ample time. no better place to wait then at home though

My takeout menu states that they only deliver as far west as Yonge St. Are you saying they delivered to you in Bloor West Village?

      2. Chinese - I'd have to go with Mayflower on Royal York north of Eglinton. I think they must deliver east of the Humber. Queen's pasta is pretty consistent.

        1. I believe Vesuvios (Dundas/Keele) is within the delivery area.
Chutneys (Bloor/Royal York) for Indian fare.

          1. for some slightly upscale pizza/pasta/burger/dinner delivery try villa & strada:

            http://www.stradarestaurant.com/main2...

            http://www.villarestaurant.ca/main2.html

they're both owned by il fornello so take that for what it's worth.

Thank you for recommending our restaurants.
We just wanted to clear up a misunderstanding, we are a family owned neighbourhood restaurant in Bloor West and we are not associated with Il Fornello.

Thank you! The tilapia tacos sound good!

My apologies, I heard somewhere you were affiliated. I'll fact check a little harder next time.

Thank you for clearing that up. I too heard through a friend of a friend of a friend that you were affiliated with Il Fornello, and based on that I have always avoided your restaurants (can't stand IF, never had a good experience there).

But now that I know that you have always been Fornello free, I will have to give you guys a try.

When they first opened they were part of the IF chain...but they have since left...good on them...now only if we could do something about the Firken & the Dark Horse!!

                2. I like Sushi Villa -- take out or delivery, good platters.

                  1. Pizzaiolo at Jane/Bloor is good pizza, they deliver.

Horrible experience at Strada recently. Went there for a friends' birthday mid-week. Place looks good on the outside, nice on the inside too but as soon as I walked in I got a bad vibe. Hostess/Waitress had an attitude from the start. First of all it was empty so we order thinking our food will come quickly. Nope! It takes close to an hour for the food to come. When we asked why it took so long, the girl working says that there is group dinner in the back. We are 8 people in the front...we're less important? So in total there were about 16 people eating in that restaurant that night. Not many and that excuse was not good enough.
When the food came, it was crap. We asked to speak to the manager and he came over and had little remorse or empathy about his lack luster waitstaff and quality of the food.

We found ourselves NEGOTIATING with him about what meals to take off the bill!! He couldn't make a decision and make it right with us...we were setting the terms. It was pathetic. No customer service skills from him...I guess that's where his staff learns it from too.

                      Never again!!

I gave it a 2 star because of the company I was with. Had little to do with the restaurant, the ignorant staff or the day-old stale food.
