best breakfast taquitos?

I have been living in Austin since August, and I just realized that I have gone without breakfast taquitos. So where are the best places to get some with homemade tortillas?

  1. Afang,
If by breakfast taquitos you mean breakfast tacos (are they the same?), then choices in Austin abound. My usual stops for brekfast tacos are El Chilito for migas tacos and Habenero Cafe for all others. I don't care for the migas tacos at Habenero but have enjoyed their other food. No doubt, searching these boards will show you the favorites of other hounds.
    Happy hunting!

    1. About the only place that actually serves breakfast TAQUITOS (as oppsed to tacos) is.... get ready for it.... 7-11. They have them on those stainless steel hot dog rollers in the morning. I bought one for the first and last time the other morning.

Speaking of breakfast - the tacos at Dan's (Manchaca/Ben White) are only half as big lately. Fortunately the Lamar/Koenig Dan's is still the same as always.

Taquito: Corn tortilla rolled like a big cigar and fried in oil. Same thing as a flauta but the later uses a flour tortilla.

Didn't know they had them. Well, I guess that's one step up from 7-11 :-)

They call them taquitos at Whataburger, but they are actually just regular breakfast tacos in a flour tortilla
