Barbecue At First Assembly Baptist Church?

b

Just went to an wine tasting With Barbecue at Silverlake Wine. (They do it a couple of times a year and it is FANTASTIC!

The barbecue comes from the First Assembly Baptist Church in South Los Angeles. According to Randy form Silverlake Wine, the church sets up huge smokers on Fridays and Saturdays only.

I can't find a THING about this on the internet. Has anyone been there and have more information?

Been there before ( cool drums in the parking lot and and a clean "roach coach" delivery system.. However I was not wowed! I am still a fan of Phillips BBQ ( orginal location ) as my benchmark for Los Angeles Que

Same. The church Q was kinda funky without the sauce.

This is from Silver Lake Wines web site.

"BBQ from The First Assembly Baptist Church"

Maybe there is more than 1 church doing BBQ like this.

I've written about it but called it the BBQ Church I believe.

This includes a link to Modernist's post about this church bbq, (which he notes can be "dry" at times).

I really hate when ribs are dry and the meat is "withered" (for lack of a better description). I had this experience at Pann's (and a place I like a lot for their fried chicken and their patty melts) and would be hard pressed to try their bbq again.

i believe you have the church name incorrect. it is Prayer Assembly Church of God in Christ. do another search.
