Amer Picon (Shanghai)

WHere can i find a bottle of (or bar that serves) true French (not American) Amer Picon liqueur in Shanghai? Not available in US afaik. TIA!

  1. I don't recall if Carrefour sells booze, but they are a French chain, after all. I'd also check the shops at upscale hotels.

      Thanks-- no luck yet finding it. Tried the bar at the Grand Hyatt at Jinmao tower (after some decent steamed veal chop w/ rice flour and pork belly w/ abalone in their Shanghai restaurant on the 85th floor) but they had only the standard stuff. BTW had a great banquet at Shun Feng restaurant (standouts for me were the delicate, almost custardy, fishballs and the shenjian bao at the end). Jia Jia Tang Bao also raised the bar for me for crab xlb.

        When all else fails, try calling the French Consulate. They might know something.

          In re the Jinmao Grand Hyatt 87th floor bar, last Thurs my husband was served the world's shortest measure of Famous Grouse there - if it was 3/4 oz, that's all it was. The room is very snazzy and the viewof course amazing - in a good way - and so was this drink - not so!!!
