Tuscan Restaurants In LA?

The food I had in Tuscany was consistently the best I've had in Europe, and suddenly I've got a big-time craving. Rather than an Italian restaurant with a few Tuscan-inspired dishes, I'm looking for a great restaurant that specialized in Tuscan cuisine like Cinghiale (Boar), rabbit leg, meat carpaccio's, etc.

What'dya got Hounders?

  1. Try Fioretto:

This board fell in love briefly with Fioretto when it just opened, but that was a few years ago.
Then it fell into silent Siberia.
Perhaps it's time for a revisit.

Thanks Ric. I'll check it out.

Oh, and I forgot to mention in the OP that I'm looking for Tuscan BESIDES, Osteria Mozza, which is indeed, great.

        Osteria Mozza Tuscan?
        I'd rather call it Schmuscan...

I still like Fioretto, but it's not terribly popular on chowhound. Seems like the Alejo/C&O lovers avoid it and it's not trendy/high-end enough to recommend to the Mozza lovers. Good neighborhood spots with consistently high food quality.

They pretty much wore out their welcome with such terrible service issues for such a long period of time after the started up that many of the hounds who liked their food kind of gave up on them.

      3. I came back from a vacation in Tuscany and was craving the same food I had there...and the best I could find in LA is Sor Tino in Brentwood. It's Italian owned, everyone who works there speaks Italian, and their wild boar paparadalle was better than I had in Italy. Give it a try!

        1. I second Fioretto.I think Angelini Osteria on Beverly is Tuscan. Both excellent.
