Honolulu recs..Cafe Miro, Yohei Sushi
Just got back..two out-of-the-way places to recommend:
Care Miro, 3446Waialae Ave. 808-734-2727
Chef Shigeru Kobayashi, French trained, elegant little spot, mostly French with Asian/Island touches. They just started baking their own breads. Two price fixed menus to choose from-reasonably priced.
Yohei Sushi 1111 Dillingham Blvd. #E1A'
808 841 3773
POPULAR (very crowded) sushi place in what looked like an industrial shopping center.
They take reservations for the sushi bar. We let the chef pick our choices--enjoyed it all especially the broiled baby abalone on the shell. Not insanely pricey, either.

My PT went to a birthday party there over the weekend. She said the food was most amazing, the service fabulous and the ambiance lovely (Cafe Miro). I am anxious to
try it sometime as well after her report. Their group was 14 and she said it was so
intimate and fun, food paced well, prepared well and delicious. -
