Thanks for the suggestions.....

Well, our dinner to Restaurant X was too wonderful for words.

There were a few by the glass wines and sparkling wines in the menu, the sparking wines were around $8 per glass if I remember correctly.

I ordered the 1/2 bottle of the Gimmonet blanc de blancs. The server brought it over and told me it was the last bottle. Since it looked so puny (haha) I told him I would rather order a full bottle of something. We went ahead and ordered the yellow label WHICH IS ORANGE.

I do not really drink wine and have always liked champagne. This was the best champagne that I have ever had (and the most expensive). It was bubbly and dry dry dry (which I love).

I ordered diver scallops and my husband had a crabmeat dish for apps and not even knowing anything about pairing even I could tell it was a great match. We were so full from apps and dinner that I could not order the cheese course!! We did have dessert though and I finished my champagne with creme brulee.

Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions. There are some wine tasting events our way and we plan on attending a few. Could be fun!
