Il Pasticcio in Edmonton
Some friends have suggested Il Pasticcio for dinner tonight. Has anybody been there since it changed ownership ?

Hey - El Pasticcio is a wonderful Italian restaurant with substantial servings at moderate prices. The do have a corkage fee of $18.00 which verges on too much in my opinion.
But they do have my favourite seafood soup in town here - at lunch it is $6.50 and is chock full of all sorts of seafood in a tomato broth. A half-size ceasar salad is only $5 or so, of which I never eat the entire thing.
And yes, it is jointly owned by Frank and Joe and Derek of the Sicilian Pasta Kitchen. I work down the block and go there for lunch frequently. Compared to when Nello owned the place, well - the dishes still contain lots of olive oil but they do taste good. In fact, I am quite taken with El Pasticcio on a chilly winter lunch.

Have not been back in years and years and certainly not since Nello sold out to the brothers [Sicilian Pasta Kitchen crew aren't they?] and opened his spot in St. Albert.
Used to be quite an "interesting" spot during the late evening and usually early morning hours of a Friday/Saturday. Cops on one side and "gangsters" on the other [smile]
