sf visitors need some recs

I am looking for a restaurant in the valley or on the Westside that is like RNM or The Blue Plate in San Francisco. Or any other place that is similarly good in the same American cuisine way? Thanks in advance!

  1. You might do well at somewhere like Bar Marmont or BLD on Beverly or Beechwood in Marina Del Rey.

    1. Any budget constraints? Are there specific dishes that you're looking for? I've not been to those two restaurants; what's the atmosphere and decor like? Are you willing to travel east into Mid-Wilshire and Hollywood?

had the same questions... if you were willing to go into the "city" a bit, LUCQUES and JAR would both be worth considering.

the new AKASHA might interest you as well... the scallops i had here were great w/ black forbidden rice and this edamame puree.

in santa monica, there's also JIRAFFE.

in the valley, maybe FIREFLY would suit your needs.

Wilshire just got a nice review from SIV in the LATimes... Sorry to say but that makes me less inclined to eat there. American, good service, good value, westside -- Nook.

        2. Wilshire & Nook are good options. Might also consider Violet.
