Which Santa Monica farmer's market is best for early weekend morning?

Will be in Santa Monica over a weekend, and wondering which is the best to see/experience the most if I can only go at the opening, staying about an hour?

  1. I havent been to the saturday market on cloverfield, but the saturday market on Arizona is pretty nice. Its half the size of the wednesday market but its much better than the sunday Main Street market, which is probably the weakest of the lot.

I just went to the one on cloverfield today and in my opinion it doesnt compare with the Arizona market. Thats my regular one and i have never had a problem parking in the lot on 4th and Arizona. The only thing that i like better about the cloverfield location is the fact that the carlsbad aquafarm is there. Fortunately they are also at the Main St market on sundays.

They're also at Arizona and 2nd on Wednesday!

    2. The one on Arizona crossing the 3rd Street Promenade is definitely the most "scenic" for some of the neighboring shops, the clientele, and the ocean a few blocks away. But unless you luck into a vacant spot at a parking meter, you will be spending time negotiating the big parking structures on 2nd or 4th and walking to and from. The Saturday morning market at Pico and Cloverfeld is more compact, has easier free parking, has good stands for coffee and grilled tacos, and is a neighborhood resource for produce, flowers, and for me, plants.

      1. The Saturday market at Arizona & 3rd Street Promenade is the best. There is plenty of parking to be had in one of the big structures off of 2nd or 4th in the mornings. Parking is free for the first 2 hours!

        1. If you're willing to head up to Brentwood, San Vicente just west of Bundy, the one there on Sunday mornings is lovely.
