Baking supplies in the Triangle
I'm looking for red and/or orange nonpariels to decorate a cake. I've checked my usual suspects and have been told that those colors are only available around X-mas/Valentines/Halloween. Huh?
Short of having to go to mail order does anyone have any suggestions for a reasonably comprehensive baking supply store in the area that would carry what I thought was a standard product? I'm willing to drive a little. It's still probably cheaper than paying shipping.
Thanks.

Many thanks. Southern Season had just what I needed (that, and another $50 worth of things I didn't know I needed but just had to have). Kitchenworks had a nice selection of pans and hardware but not much in terms of the edible decorating components.
Now I just need to justify my investment.

I've read on other boards that a place called The NC Paper Company or maybe the Clayton Paper Company in Clayton has a lot of cake decorating supplies, but I haven't been there to check yet.
A Southern Season does have an extensive selection of sprinkles.
Besides Michael's & AC Moore, JoAnns also carries the Wilton line.

NC Paper Company is at 114 W. Main St. Clayton. Here is an old article on it: http://www.claytonnews-star.com/news/...

re: rockycat
I've found Kitchenworks, also at University Mall in Chapel Hill, to be even better than A Southern Season for supplies.
