Sgt Pepperoni's in Newport Beach/Costa Mesa

Is the pizza good? Any recommendations from fellow chowhounds?

  1. In my book, it's hard to imagine "bad" pizza. But that said, the pizza at Sgt. Pepperoni's is pretty good... traditional with a sweetish sauce.

I like their lunch special with a slice and a salad. They go well together.

    1. horrible...on par with Shakeys or the equally abysmal lamp post pizza or northwood pizza...simply not worth the're not far from Al's Pizza in Costa Mesa.Go there instead

Ohhh Mmmmmm Al's ...... I second that! If you're looking for traditional NY pizza, that's the place. The pies are a bit smaller than we'd like, but so damn good.

Horrible pizza. Simply overly bread-y crust with some vague red sauce slopped on.

        Avoid like the plague.

        1. I think it's just OK. Not great, but not as horrible as some others have stated.

The meat lasagna is what I really like at Sgt. Pepperoni's. One of the better ones in the area, if you like lots of melted mozzarella cheese.

Sgt. Pepperoni's is a disaster! Avoid at all costs! Just thinking about it makes me depressed.

If you've never had good pizza you probably won't notice the difference. If you have, then you'll recognize in a heartbeat that the pizza here is not very good.
