Family and budget friendly bistro

I am looking for a family friendly bistro type restaurant in park the slopeish area. Something akin to what a good old fashioned red sauce Italian place might do for family style Italian dining. Thanks for any leads,

200 Fifth - Union and Fifth - it's a sports bar but has a dining room area too
lots of ecclectic food from kids to adult sophisticatd. don't go on game nights unless you are a sports fan though -
wide variety of food and beer (40 on tap)

well, park slope has horrible bistros. frankly, the first restaurant that comes to mind here is farm on adderley on cortelyou. nothing amazing but solid food for decent prices. always crowded with locals.

I quite like Canaille on 5th Avenue and ??? near the Chocolate Room (where the Red Cafe used to be). Don't know how family friendly it is, but it certainly isn't a stuffy place.

Also, 12th Street Bar and Grill on 12th Street (duh) and 8th Avenue might fit the bill also. Also, it has a more expansive menu for the kids (great burgers).
