I would love a great pure vanilla with butter cream recipe and chocolate? Also something exotic too, thanks.

Here is a link to "Simply Recipes" and a delicious Red Velvet Cupcake with Cream Cheese Frosting by Garrett McCord. I made these for Valentine's Day and they were both beautiful and delicious. http://www.elise.com/recipes/archives...

Also, check out this site for more cupcake recipes. http://vanillagarlic.blogspot.com/ "Click" on the "Cupcake Menu" on the right side of the page to find a flavor you like.

      Magnolia's Vanilla Cupcakes

From the Magnolia Bakery in New York (as seen on Sex in the City). This is their most popular cupcake, iced with vanilla buttercream, aptly titled the "vanilla vanilla." The most popular color for the icing is pink.

I baked these cupcakes not too long ago. To me, something was off..the texture/taste wasn't to my liking. I don't know if it was me or what, but I had extremely high hopes for them.

I love Billy's Vanilla Vanilla cupcakes the most of all I've tried recently-rich, easy, great flavor. They don't rise a lot, stay pretty flat, but so good.

I made Billy's buttercream frosting after reading your post. LOVED it. It was slightly sweeter than I might want so I'll adjust that next time but those cupcakes were addicting. The texture was very nice, tasted great.
Thanks for posting this. Next time I'll use their cupcake recipe, too.

Let's face it, cupcakes are fun. Familiar, colorful and oh-so-cute, these whimsical little cakes are famous for full-on flavor and mile-high frosting. And don't forget the decorations.

Best of all? They're small enough that you don't have to share.

It's no wonder that cupcakes seem to turn up at everything from backyard barbecues to formal weddings.

And while you can pick up the latest fancy creations at your favorite shop or bakery, the prices for these designer cakes are more likely to leave you with a bad case of sugar shock than with a good sugar high.

But beneath all their sparkle, cupcakes are really simple creations.

Currently, this is my favorite vanilla cupcake recipe:
              http://www.joyofbaking.com/VanillaCup...
Though I think part of the reason I like it is because it only makes a dozen. Sometimes I want cupcakes, but I don't need two or three dozen. I also do a variation of these with freeze dried strawberries added in, and a strawberry cream cheese frosting.
