Sakawaya's Changing Hands

Sad days - Koki has sold Sakawaya and is leaving the area. The change over is happening at the end of the month, so if you know Koki, or have enjoyed Sakawaya, drop in and say goodbye. I know I'll miss my regular dose on Thursday nights, and none of the other Japanese spots on the Danforth could match Sakawaya

As depressed as I am now, I wish Koki all the best in his travels!

It's the only Japanese place I eat at. For a guy who came to N America as an oboist, he's a great restaurateur...

We were just there last night! I'm very sad to hear that they are closing. I'm guessing it's due to the competition in the neighbourhood? That's too bad...

He said he's going to spend some time in Hong Kong and then perhaps China.
