Good seafood restaurant in downtown toronto?

Just what the subject suggests...

I'm looking for a good seafood restaurant in or around downtown toronto. It was my new years a day ago and tonight my parents and I, along with other family friends, want to celebrate it at a good seafood restaurant. I'm not sure about price, but I certainly DON'T want us to go somewhere too expensive (e.g. $50 just the main dish).

Any suggestions??? I need some answers fast so i can make reservations.

Xam Yu on Spadina. Excellent seafood and low prices. No steaks, though.

I think you could get away with $50pp at starfish if you were careful. But good seafood is expensive. While I understand budgets all too well, oing out for budget seafood is NOT a good idea!

I second the Starfish recommendation. You might get hit with more than $50 pp. You may want to try Hiro Sushi at King and Jarvis; they do a prix fixe style of menu that I believe is $35 pp. One of the better sushi places in Toronto.

If you want midtown, I'd recommend Zee Grill. A touch less expensive than Starfish, but still very good.

Starfish! Great bivalves, equally great cooked appertizers and fish main courses.

They do have a steak on the menu and it's done very nicely. :)

Its more midtown but I would suggest Yamato in Yorkville for teppenyaki. They cook your seafood and steak right in front of you and it has always been excellent for me. They have amazing scallops, filet of beef,and lobster, and dont forget to get the fried rice for everyone, its the best ive ever had. It should be alot of fun for your family if they havnt experienced teppenyaki before. You might want to check the prices before you go but I think it should be under $50 per person.
