Is there a good place to get fried chicken in the Northwest Houston, Woodlands, Spring area? We have an out of town visitor coming, and that has been one request that I'm not sure I can fill!

I feel like I've been referring to this place a good deal lately, but Grandma Minnie's Fried Chicken at Jasper's (only available Sat/Sun brunch) is outstanding. Even a few people I know who would never eat fried chicken unless it comes from their 50-year-old cast iron skillets have admitted to its greatness.

    It's in the Woodlands.

Popeye's Fried Chicken is about as good as it gets IMO; I used to live in New Orleans, and when its good - its GOOD.

I too lived in Nawlin's and The Woodlands...Popeyes is great and low budget. Jasper's
is great chicken with great atmosphere, so it depends on what you are looking for. Do you want white linen table cloth with great service and food or take out?. Should you go have the potatoe chips w/blue cheese, it's fantastic too. It's also a great place to people watch or just visit and have cocktails.

Good sell on Jasper's. You are right, it depends on what the OP is looking for. I think most people know, though, that Popeye's is a fried chicken chain and low budget is usually a good thing to most people - especially chowhounds who go from one end of the dining spectrum to the other quite comfortably. BTW, potato has no E on the end, Stuck Up ;).
