I traveled to Spain last summer and feel in love with Pedro Ximenez Alvear Solera 1927. I am looking for a bottle of sherry that follows along the lines of the 1927- sweet, viscous, and around 20$. Grape and color are not important (im willing to try most anything).

I am a complete novice when it come to sherry and was wondering if anyone could make some suggestions that I might enjoy. Thank!

Why not buy the real thing? Not sure where you're located, and there are a few states to which these people do not deliver, but if you Google you'll see lots of options for buying it online.

Always ask when buying your PX - some are not particularly rich or "viscous" as some might say. I like this myself in a sherry.

Lustau wines are reputable and well-thought of. I have liked some and been disappointed by others including either a PX or other Cream.

If you can find it anywhere, Let me recommend you to Valdespina (sp?) - super-rich and unctuous - don't let the packaging bother you.

Valdespino. Actually that's the name I was thinking of, I don't know why I used an "a".

Nice article. Reminded me that my father liked fino sherry - I don't enjoy it at all.

I think you are in the Boston area? I don't know if NY to MA shipment is possible, but I highly recommend PJ WIne for their extensive sherry selection and knowledge. If you call them they will happily discuss sherries with you. PJ can't be beat for an incredible selction of all whole range of Spanish wines. If only it were easier to park there...
