Good martini--inexpensive food in the Back Bay

This might be a Utopian fantasy, but I'm meeting an old friend for dinner in the Back Bay. Neither of us are from Boston, but we'd like a quiet place to drink a few martinis and have a decent, but not outrageously expensive meal (i.e. not Grill 23 or Abe &Louie's). Walking distance to the Arlington train station would be a plus.

Many Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions. I think we'll try Coda because it's midway between our respective locations, and since we're not sure what our meet-up time will be and they don't take reservations. I'll report back.

I'd add Coda to the list.

Quiet and low key. Decent food. Nice cocktails.

I definitely second Coda. You will not be disappointed.
