Anything special in Brantford Area

mlukan Mar 19, 2008 11:48 PM

I'm doing a run to Brantford to check out Camp 31 and I'm wondering if there is any other foodie finds in the area? I'd like something that I can take home with me after dinner. Anything sweet is good. Thanks.

Maybe maple syrup products at the Maple Syrup Festival at Bronte Creek --

Looks like a great festival, but not really anywhere near Brantford, JamieK!

I have to go to Brantford once in awhile for business, and if I time things right I make the trek out to Camp 31 in Paris, but that's about it. There is a British-style pub in one of the newer plazas off Wayne Gretzky Parkway that does reasonable lunches, but it's no "foodie find".

If your route takes you east of Brantford on the 403, you might find something in Ancaster that feeds the sweet tooth. Also along that route, Weil's Bakery in Westdale (Hamilton) isn't far off the highway, near McMaster University, as is the Bean Bar, which does great desserts (but I'm not sure if they do takeout).

Ooops, sorry, I'll go have another coffee.
