Upper Crust in Harvard Sq
I work on Brattle near the square, and on my way home tonight I peeked into the space where Museum of Useful Things used to be- the permit said something about Upper Crust..
Does anyone have any info on this? I'm fairly new to the area, and I've never been to any of their locations- but it will be nice to have a new restaurant across from my job (even though there are at least three other places to get pizza nearby).
Thanks!

That would be disapointing...

I know that Upper Crust has been intending to open a location in Harvard Square for some time---it's stated right in their ads as "coming soon." I personally welcome it, since the Museum of Useful Things was kind of redundant to Black Ink, owned by the same people. You can only have so many overpriced tchotchkes, although I have been known to purchase said tchotchkes as gifts on occasion.

I kinda liked Museum of Useful Things, only I wish they had more useful things, more of a guy's version of Black Ink.
Anyhoo, I'm chortling at any new dining establishment in the Square that isn't a very good package store. I like Upper Crust when they're on, but we really don't need another pizza option, do we?

i liked mut too, more than black ink. i also like upper crust, though, so i guess it's a draw. what's the competition for slices? there's pinocchio's and that place in the holyoke center...bertucci's...others?

-Pinocchio's
-Bertucci's
-Crazy Dough
-Oggi's
-Cambridge One, (which isn't really slices but their half pizzas would qualify, I think)
-Pizzeria Uno (if you can call it pizza)
-Veggie Planet
-That place next to Daedalus
I'd honestly be surprised if I wasn't missing at least one.

is crazy dough in the garage? if it's the place i'm thinking of, i always think to myself that it can't possibly be good each time i walk by. am i wrong?

Yep, Crazy Dough is the one upstairs.

It's actually not so bad, especially during the lunch rush when the pies tend to be rather fresh.

I also like Upper Crust but agree:
- there is no need for another pizza joint in HarSq
- there is no need for another Upper Crust, period (consistency seems to go down each time they open another store)
- MUT was better than Black Ink, for my taste. : )
