Migas?

Is this dish available anywhere in the region? Got back from Austin recently and have fallen in love with this wonderful Tex-Mex concoction. For those not in the know, it's basically fried tortilla strips, eggs and chiles (unless, I'm missing something).

I lived in Austin years ago--back in the early-to-mid-1980s. Kirby Lane cafe was a favorite place!

Austin Grill is a local chain, and has sadly gone downhill from its glory days when Ann Cashion worked there, but they do serve migas. In fact, the only thing I order now when I go there are egg dishes.

I agree with what you said on Austin Grill. I have been their a couple of times, always hoping for better...sadly. I think I remember the breakfast menu that you are referring to-I'll have try it!

I am also from Texas and I know what you mean...Have you been to maudie's in Austin? or even Kirby Lane...

In DC I have seen migas at Taqueria Poblano in the Del Ray section of Alexandria. They have a breakfast brunch.

Been to both, but didn't try migas at Kirby. Poblano, eh? I will have to hit them up.
