Lamb from Marin Sun Farms is excellent. I'd contact their butcher shop in Pt Reyes

You may be thinking of CK Lamb, in Healdsburg, used by many of the Sonoma County chefs. Very good flavor.

If I help you turn the spit, do I get the head?

I cooked a whole pig last year and my family was completely grossed out by the pig's head...their loss! I wonder how disgusting a cooked lamb's head will be?

It is an old Greek custom to reward the "spit-turner" with the head. It is not disgusting...a bit fatty but delicious. It just takes a little getting used to...especially the eyes. I'm kind of joking, because I doubt if you can get a lamb with head on. Most of the carcasses I've seen have the head removed.
