Hi, guys here is report on two visits we made this RW.
Pigalle have been here several times during regular menus and previous RWs: fantastic, great service, I had duck liver pate, my wife had steak tartare, entries steak and cassoulet, deserts: chocolate cake and creme brulee. great not rushed and attentive service despite full dining room on Monday, for wine had great although expensive red from Bandol, went great with food.
Lumiere, never been before: different crowd then Pigalle, service was fine, tables way too close to each other, can here every single word of your neighbours....
apps: cauliflower leek soup with maine crab and spices, brandada was the other one, main dishes: bauvette steak, veal shouler braised with veggies (was not on a menu, special that night), deserts, choc mousse and pineapple sorbet with coconut soup. wine: another red Bandol. overall poor performance, food lukewarm, was not bad, but uninspired, the best part was the pineapple sorbet. No privacy. No desire to return to Lumiere. Pigalle was great

I'm curious: were the pate, tartare, steak, cassoulet, cake and creme brulee more "inspired" than the menu at Lumiere? I can see how they were probably better executed, but they don't seem any more inspired. I've been to Lumiere - it was fine; I have yet to visit Pigalle. I hope to go someday. And I've never been to a restaurant during restaurant week.
