Veg-Friendly Near West Chester?

spyturtle008 Mar 18, 2008 10:17 AM

Hello Fellow Hound'ers -- I'm going to be up in West Chester tomorrow evening for some errands, and am thinking of tacking on a dinner at someplace new while I'm at it. I know there are a number of good Indian restaurants in the 'burbs -- I've been to Devi and was not impressed. Which others have a good track record? Any with a dinner buffet? I'm hankering for some Asian food more generally, too, or suggestions for other surprising veg-friendly finds would be most welcome. (Have been to Su Tao and Himalaya in Malvern; love both but am looking to try someplace new.) Thanks in advance!

Hi, spyturtle. If you want to try Indian again, I'd recommend Royal India, on Route 30 in Malvern (on the north side of Route 30, between Route 29 and Route 401). I love that place, but when you tell them spicy, be sure to say "_Indian_ spicy, not American spicy!" As a bonus, they have a big flat screen tv playing Bollywood music videos most nights. The buffet is usually only open at lunchtime, though. Chinnar has a dinner buffet, but that's getting out of the WC area (it's on Swedesford Rd., near 202, in Wayne).

You might want to try the Green Papaya on Rt. 30, just east of Rt. 100 in nearby Exton. They have quite a few vegetarian selections on their large menu. It's BYO, by the way.

Thanks, CindyJ! I've been meaning to try this place for a long time, so I appreciate the reminder. Kudos.
