Diners in Somerset County, NJ
The only diner we tried recently (and I'm still scratching my head wondering why) was the newly renovated *Time To Eat* diner just off route 202 in Bridgewater. http://www.timetoeatdiner.com/About.aspx
It's always crowded, has a long history, and I think I'd rather eat the rags at the nearby newly opened car wash than eat their food again (Gross hyperbole). Frankly, I can't remember exactly why my wife and I swore we'd never go back. But *that* we so swore, and with good reason, I do remember. Lots of luck.
I am certainly no expert on diners but I have always been pleased with the food and service at The Bridgewater Diner on the median of Route 22, near the intersection with Route 287. If you're traveling north on Route 287, take Route 22 West, get in the left lane and be prepared to make a sharp turn into the diner's parking lot.
I should note that I have only had breakfast and lunch at the Bridgewater. I rarely, if ever, have dinner at a diner. So many other options come into play at that time of day!
By the way, I stopped going to The Somerset Diner a long, long time ago!
