Fiouna Persian in Newton
The sign says Fiouna Catering and Take Out. It's on California St, right next to Bridge St. I haven't seen anything about it on C-hound yet.
I stopped by on my way home from work the other day. There's no place to sit inside, just a counter with some refrigerated stuff.
They weren't all that friendly or helpful, but I lunged into a choice. I got a large Zereshk Polo ($10.99) and a small Shirazi salad ($3.49).
Zereshk Polo was a chicken kebob (5 pieces) on top of a lot of really tasty and delicate saffron basmati rice with sweet & sour red currents.
The salad was a mix of cukes, tomato, onion, dried mint and lemon. It wasn't too big and there was a lot of liquid in it, so I tossed it with some lettuce, salt and more oil at home to stretch it out a bit.
It was all pretty good and I'd go back to try more stuff. It was enough for 2 medium appetites.
Now that I have a menu, I'd call ahead first, since it took about 15-20mins for it to be done and there's nothing to do while you wait except go into the spa next door and peruse the junk food and lottery tickets.
The hours are Mon-Sat 11am-8pm, Sun 11-6. Looks like their web page: www.fiouna.com has a pdf menu that looks the same as the one I got there.

My fiancee and I stopped by there the other night and we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I think they are primarily a catering business, which is why their store is not too attractive. However, the food we got was fantastic.
We ordered the Khoresht-Fesenjan and Grilled Fillet Kebab with Zereshk Polo on the side. The chicken in the khoresht was tender and savory which stood out nicely against the sweet and sour pomegranate/walnut sauce. The filet was perfectly cooked and the rice (which I am extremely picky about) was the best basmati I have had in the Boston area. Way better than anything I have had at Lala Rokh, Helmand or any Indian restaurant in the area.
I agree with silver queen in that it is best to order ahead. We waited about 20 minutes for our food. Also, while the dishes can be pricey, the portions are big two people can easily share one entree.
