Anyone know about a new "Asian Fusion" place on rt 18 in NJ?

Saw a sign while sitting in the Wendy's drive-through (haha) and saw that Greenfield Jewelers is closed and saw "Asian Fusion" coming soon......

anyone know what is going there and if it is going to be any good?

Since Route 18 is, more or less, "chain central," I would be surprised if this turns out to be a privately-owned restaurant. However, I can't, offhand, think of an Asian *Fusion* chain, so we live in hope. In any case, to answer angelo's question, honestly, I'm not optimistic that it will be not just good but great. Heck, I'd settle for good as opposed to mediocrity.

RGR - I'm sure its not going there, but isn't PF Chang's advertised as being Asian Fusion?

I don't think so. PF Chang's needs more sq footage as well as parking. I did see that the banner said Habachi Grill, so I figure it's going to be another Airirang. Shogun 18 is going to be pissed. Katana's anyone?

          bgut,

PF Chang's did occur to me, but I thought it was Chinese, not Asian Fusion. Just to be sure, I checked their website, and as I thought -- definitely Chinese.

I found it being referenced as "Chinese Fusion". I know it was a bit of a stretch. :)

I am pretty much opposed to most chains but sometimes we don't have a chocie due to logistics etc. I have to admit I was surprised to Find PF Changs was really good, certianly better than the Sultan Wok's of our Area. Though thats not even a fair comparison, they are in completley different leagues in my book.

Reluctantly I have to agree with RGR's sentiments regarding my high hopes. But I am an optimist at heart.

Bgut1 - Went to Sunny Place for Dim Sum Sunday. We enjoyed it, it's always a fun type of meal to have though I did not see the chiken feet you mentioned on another thread. Maybe next time.

angelo04 - I'm happy you enjoyed Sunny Palace. With regard to the chicken feet, I usually have to ask for it. Maybe they don't display it to the uninitiated. Don't also hesitate to ask for other items that may be missing from the carts including their excellent BBQ pork buns.

There was a new young lady on the steam cart this weekend, and I too had to ask for the chicken feet. Also I liked the congee last week, Some times it's too watery. but never had a bad dimsum breakfast at Sunny Palace.

                  Mmmmm Pork Buns....

As far as Pf's I frequent the one in Princeton all the time for lunch, but thats about it....I hate the atmosphere enough to hate the food, but for lunch its not bad...the "dim sum" (which is just a bunch of dumplings to them) appetizer is not bad. I'd never go for dinner.

RPMcMurphy - They offer two kinds of Pork Buns; the baked one with the glazed top as well as the steamed variety.

Yeah i frequent sunny palace just wish they didn't only serve dimsum on the weekends!

I like the steamed the best. By far, the best I've had was at the Dim Sum restaurant at the grand hyatt in Hong Kong....mmmmmmm

I ate them for breakfast every day at the sheraton right next door in hong kong. soooo good.

You must try the place across from the Marco Polo in Kowloon.Still the best I have ever had. Never went to the GH, but sounds good.

I noticed that too. I will keep an eye out for the grand opening. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it isn't just good but great. Am I asking for too much or being too optimistic?

I just hope it's not going to be one of those hibachi airirang, shogun 18 places....while I get a hankering for them once in a while, we have enough close by!
