Lunch Beverly Hills

I did a search and there were some suggestions but thought I would also post a current thread. I'm new to working in the B.H. area and want to meet a friend for lunch who is in CA visiting (from Ohio). What would your recommend. Cuisine is open, preferred location would be somewhere between Wilshire and Beverly and La Cienega and Fairfax although could travel outside of that area as well!

Thanks for any suggestions.

  1. Do you want a fancy or casual lunch? Casual would be Urth Cafe on Melrose, Joan's on Third, BLD or the Cafe at Fred Segal (for celeb spotting.) More elegant dining could be at Luques, Chaya Brasserie, The Ivy or the new Nobu on La Cienega.

What about the Farm of Beverly Hills? It is a good place for lunch and they have the best brownies in town. Also, good salads, sandwiches and burgers. It is on Beverly Drive. For an expensive lunch, there is the GRILL on the Alley. For Italian, there is Da Pasquale or Il Pastaio or Piccolo Paradiso.

    2. do you mean wishire blvd and beverly blvd as the north/south limits and lacienega and fairfax as the east/west?
b/c that doesn't include much of beverly hills....

if you are talking about Wilshire Blvd and Beverly Drive- smack in the business district of BH-
Urth Cafe on South Beverly Drive
      Il Pastaiao on North Canon
      The Grill
Barney Greengrass at Barney's on Wilshire

It does not get enough publicity on CH but Frida's Mexican on Beverly Drive is the best Mexican restaurant in the city. If you like authentic DF Mexican food there is no better. And their salsas kick ass. Try their tacos de rib eye or the tacos de guerro or the ceviches. For dinner they have a great steak with huitlacoches which is also very good.

      2. There's Enoteca Drago in the BH area that's good. Never been - but there's a Nate & Al as well.

If you want to spend the $ there's also Spago.
