I have reservations at both this Friday but can't decide. Anyone have input?

It depends mostly on how much you want to spend, and if you don't mind noise. Two courses and wine will run around $150 for two including tip at Pepolino, $110 to $120 at Crispo. The food at Pepolino is superb, but the menu is somewhat limited. The style is Tuscan. Crispo has a much larger and more varied menu. It is also rather noisy, particularly on weekends. Both have a somewhat rustic atmosphere. Pepolino is quieter and the service is attentive and slower-paced. I go to Crispo more often, for the variety and value, but if it's more of a special occasion, I'd choose Pepolino.

Thanks! It's more of a special night out so I think we'll go with Pepolino. It looks a bit more cozy too.

        Good characterization of both.

I'd like to add that, after dinner, I'd rather find myself on the SoHo/Tribeca border than just about any part of 14th St.

Good thought. Any suggestions for before or after dinner drinks?
