Maki-- any in LA?

It's a dark, shiny, starchy soup with slivers of ginger, parsley and thin slices of beef marinated and coated with lord knows what ingredients that complement the beef well. I believe it is an Amoy Chinese specialty dish but I have not been able to find it in Taiwanese nor Chiu Chow restaurants. Are there Amoy Chinese restaurants anywhere in greater Los Angeles? Or does any Chowhound have a recipe for it?
