Papadakis Taverna in San Pedro

The short and sweet is we had a GREAT TIME! I haven't been there in almost 10 years because it's almost a light year from Newport but I had a group of ten and we decided to venture out. John and Tom (owners) did an incredible job and the place was packed. The food was very good and high quality we ordered Rabbit, Colorado Rack of Lamb , Double Veal Chop, Comb Greek specialities, etc, bring money. The SHOW is half the fun and everyone had a wonderful time, we are going back soon, or I'll never hear the end of it, in fact I heard about "when are we going again" all the way home.

  1. If memory serves, the portions are humongous at Papdakis. We used to go semi-regularly, split an entree and order an extra appetizer course -- and still not be able to finish! But what a treat to be able to savor the remains of those lamb chops the next day. Yummmm.

      LBQT, no self respecting lamb loving (now don't get the wrong idea here, Woody) 'hound would have any left over lamp chops to savor later.

        CW, this was the largest portion of double lamb chops I've ever seen served anywhere! After having some appetizers, and salad, and avgolemono soup, there's just no way one person could finish those chops without bringing along a spare stomach.

          OK, one day when I am back on solid food we will have to meet there and you can prove it to me. However, you may be required to reassure the Mrs. that she will like this food that she has probably never tasted before.

              Like right now until June 1. Sipping a diet drink concoction as I surf...

            The portions are enormous and even the Mrs. will find food to her liking. I always have the saddle of lamb in phyllo (filled with feta cheese)! Unbelievable. They also serve excellent cuts of beef and fish.

          Love that flaming (redundant) saganaki & the Santorini wine - can't drink it with anything but Greek food, but it works beautifully with all that olive oil, garlic, rosemary & oregano!
