Has anyone tried this relatively new fish place?

  1. We've been for lunch several times and like it. Most of the dishes are healthy and the fish seems fresh, but they also have some fried choices. My favorite is the blackened salmon wrap.

    1. I've actually become addicted to this place!! I was so bummed when Rubio's shut down, and even more so when I found out that it would be replaced by a place called Hook'd on Fish. HOWEVER, this place is awesome. The fish is so fresh and flavorful, and healthy too. My current favorite is the Cajun Soft Tacos...mmmmm.

My husband and I go there all the time. Healthy, quick and fresh. It is great for take out or dine in. Nothing fancy but great for a weeknight dinner.

      2. Agree with other posters. It's pretty good. I like their rice pilaf.

        1. I've been there several times. I always get the salmon, and I prefer the Virgin Mediterranean sauce to the Kicken Cajun.

This restaurant emphasizes the healthy aspects of their food, yet they peel the potatoes and serve white rice instead of brown.

            Where is this located please?

Hook'd on Fish is located in the same shopping center as Aaron Brothers in Encino on Ventura Blvd. It is on the 17200 block of Ventura Blvd. They took over the former Rubio's. I think it is still called the Town & Country Center.

          2. This is good to know, i've been wonderintg!

Tried this place out yesterday for the first time. Good stuff. I tried the grilled cod with rice and had the garlic sauce. Im gonna try the wraps next time.

            2. We tried Hook'd on Fish on Saturday for lunch. It was really good! I had the grilled Mahi Mahi plate and my wife had the Maho Mahi tacos. Good rice, good salad, good cole slaw and the fish was fresh. For a healthy, casual lunch, this place rocks. I wish there was one closer to where we live, I would eat there quite often. I am sure glad this place replaced Rubio's, Hook'd on Fish is so much better. The prices are reasonable too. (Rubio's was a ripoff, you could eat in a sit down full service Mexican restaurant for what they charged))
