Fresh Artichokes?

Will be down next Sat for some foodie shopping again. Looking for fresh artichokes. Friend bought some at No Frills .99/lb; nothing great - mid to large size and somewhat prickly.
Anyone seen any and prices?

    I saw packages of baby artichokes at Whole Foods. Sorry, I didn't notice the price.

      $6.99 for 2lbs. Some are very small, and by the time you've removed the green parts, the remainder is pretty skimpy. Nice though.
