  1. It's been too long since I've been. Believe you can get fried catfish and some Chinois knock off items. Jury seems to be out at the moment in that a recent expansion into the old Le Colonial space in Beverly Hills has garnered uniformly bad reviews. Spread too thin?

Was there recently, it's ok. Now go to SAVOURY'S down PCH about a mile S. and have a much better dinner.(Yes they are Idine too, last time I checked)

I don't know... I kinda liked their food. I can't voucher for their branch in LA, but imo their Laguna branch has been consistently good. My fav is actually their kung-pao calamari, but I also like their catfish very much. Last time I was there, I had a very good, but strange pumpkin-like soup (different from the Korean pumpkin soup). I also love their duck dishes, and their desserts. The complementry kim-chee apetizer isn't bad either

The only thing I didn't care for, were the average tasting spring rolls and pot stickers.

Otherwise, I really think this is more of a 'like it or hate it' place. It happens to work for me, and I like it much better than Chinios on Main, or any other of Wolfgang Puck's resturants. It's definetly not a 'knock-off'! I'd say it at least deserves a try. Frankly, I'm not a big fan of fusion cuisine in general, but I do like 5 feet very much, and try to go there at least once a year.

Pretty much, I agree with you on the Laguna branch although I like Chinois better. Here's a thread on the recently opened LA branch of 5 Feet, containing some comments by the always informative Tom Armitage.

As Daft Punk would say, one more time.
