Aloha all!
We will be visiting Boston in a few weeks... my husband will be going to a Celtics game and I wanted to take my 6 year old daughter to get a bite to eat while he was at the game (we are staying very near by). Where do you recommend - affordable and kid friendly? I know there's a McD's nearby, but I'd like to avoid that if possible (a sit down restaurant w/ a menu would be good...something like a Denny's, Rainforest Cafe, or mom and pop cafe-type place).

I don't want to be walking around too much since it'll be dark (by the way, is it a pretty safe area to be walking around at night?) Is there anything to do at night nearby? Stores? And by walking distance, I mean 1/4 mile max (my 6 year old won't want to walk too far after a full day's activities).

Thanks for any help...

The Fours on Canal St. almost opposite the Garden is a local institution sports bar. Not filled with tv's, but where you might see the entire Celtics front office come in for lunch. Food is good. Can check out the menu at thefours.com.

Otherwise, that area is probably not the best place to wander in after dark because so many people come to the games and drinking occurs before and after. It isn't unsafe but it's not the safest feeling little area.

There are a few other decent places on Canal whose names all escape me.

We meet again! Anyway, the best place for you to hang out is Quincy Market. It's about a 10 minute walk from the Garden. There you'll find lots of eating possibilities, stores, and even street entertainers.
