The current edition of my neighborhood newspaper, the Uptown Neighborhood News had several tidbits of restaurant news that I thought I'd pass on.

A new upscale Mexican restaurant, Indio, is scheduled to open soon in the space formerly occupied by Pizza Nea on Lake St. It's owned by the owners of El Meson and Cafe Ena.

Aronas, a new Mediterranean/American restaurant, will be opening in the space formerly occupied by Vino 610 (Lake, just east of Lyndale - between It's Greek to Me and Fuji Ya).

Five has reopened as an event center. On Bryant north of Lake.

Namaste, on Hennepin, has applied for a liquor license and approval has been recommended by the City Council.

Marla's Indian and Caribbean Cafe (Lake and Emerson) is for sale, but will probably be open until the sale. Marla will be concentrating on her other restaurant, Marla's Caribbean Cuisine on Bloomington.
