good seafood buffet in Miami, FTL, or PB?
I've got some big seafood lovers coming into town in a couple weeks, and I need some suggestions for seafood buffets. We've done Whale Harbor (in Islamorada) and Kyojin (Miami) for sushi/seafood, as well as Joe's, Capt. Jim's, and Garcia's. They liked Whale Harbor, but don't think it was worth the 1.5 hr drive. Kyojin was OK, but they want more seafood.
Any suggestions? Has anyone been to The Crab House on 79th Street?
I should have also suggested Sea Watch on A- 1A in Lauderdale by the Sea, north of Commercial, great food - the crowd can be a little old at certain times (like Sunday afternoons) but the food has always be great. - Aruba's too by the pier on Commercial - right on the beach - a little crowded this time of the year - but they have music every weekend and pretty good food - but the views are great!
I agree with the Blue Moon for Sunday brunch, outstanding 7 hot dishes I believe, at least 5 seafood. However, if you are looking for another day of the week - try Catfish Dewey's in Ft. Lauderdale on Andrews. It is a OLD OLD time favorite with the locals, and it has several all you can eat items, as well as individual orders which is generally all anyone can eat. They do have combo's too - but the shrimp is outstanding, and any of the fish is amazing... one of our favorites, and a place we always take out of town guest, who are ok with less than fancy/dressy place. It is casual extreme - but darn good! We have also eaten at the Rusty Crab Shack off Griffin Road in Hollywood/FLL not all that great - and the prices are rather high. However, it is fun to pound the heck out of your own crab claws and legs!
