Overton's to open this weekend

The drive-up seafood place in Norwalk is supposed to open this weekend. It's that tiny place right next to Harbor Lights. It's a wonderful spot, especially in the summertime. The clams are really delicious!

  1. I've passed by here before. Can you get anything that's not fried at Overton's?

Pretty much everything is fried. I'm not a fan of fried food, and therefore not a fan of Overton's at all. Even when I had friends working there in High school and I could eat for free if I wanted to I always declined. I never have seen the appeal. I do however seem to be in the minority. My advice is to go next door to Harbour Lights for a proper meal!

      2. Yippee! It really must be Spring! Bring on the fried foods!

        1. Fried food? Yay.

          Seafood? Nay.

I never got into Overton's, although I used to indulge Mr. Chubby's a lot.

          1. jfood decided to head down to Overton's for a clam belly roll and a chocolate shake today. 90 degrees a little breeze and an hour to decompress. A true road food experience.

The clam roll ($4.25) had 4-5 fried clams that were basically bellyless fried breading (nicely fried though) on a toasted roll and the milkshake ($2.25) was right out of the machine where the theory is that it will mix up as dispensed. It was sorta a vanilla fudge milkshake. So jfood grabbed a picnic table, had a mediocre meal for $6.50, relaxed, unwound and enjoyed staring into the harbor.

The clam roll was a 2, the milkshake a 5 and the view a 10. Overall a priceless meal.

Thank you overtons. A fried meal worth relaxing with.
