Best Filet Mignon under 30 bucks?

That is my favorite cut of steak and I want to get a good one in town. The yummiest I've had was in Cambria at the Brambles. It had a smoky flavor and was really good!

Any suggestions?

I just goto Costco and buy the whole filet. You can get it for around $60-70 buck and trim it for about 7-10 steaks.

Don't know how much it cost since I was a guest but Ruth's Chris in Anaheim was excellent if you like butter. My all time favorite like you was up north in Nipomo called Jocko's. But that's another thread.

As you can see on this recent post, JBC made a comparison of area steak prices using the filet mignon as the basis.

Only the 2 cheapest places price their filet under $30. Of those, Taylor's is probably your best bet.

Monday night at Taix on Sunset at Alvarado, they do a $15.95 Filet Mignon dinner. Comes with Bearnaise sauce and for a few bucks more, all you can eat soup, a salad, and sherbet.
