Graduation dinner

Hello, we are going to be in D.C. for my sister's graduation in May and need a good restaurant. For my graduations we went to Charlie Trotter's in Chicago and then the Maisonette in Cincinnati. Can anyone recommend places similar to those? We want it to be special, but relaxed.

I would recommend going to either Citronelle or traveling out to Old Town, VA and going to Eve.

And since there will be a ton of families in town for graduations I would consider making a reservation ASAP.
Another idea would be Equinox. I also hear Komi and CityZen are excellent.

I definitely agree w/ Restaurant Eve in Alexandria. The food is incredible and if you want to make it even more special you could do the tasting room. I would recommend the 5 course tasting menu because gives you about 5 choices per course. Also, don't miss the cocktails. In my opinion, Todd Thrasher makes the best cocktails in the city.
