ISO: Organic candied citrus peel

Has anybody seen organic candied citrus peel (orange or lemon)? I would think that the health food stores might have it, but I did not see it at the ones in my area (Bloor West Village).
Big Carrot, maybe? I don't want to make a trip unless I know for sure.

Ever considered DIY candied peel from organic citrus? We make orange, lemon, and grapefruit--not difficult. Made some killer candied Seville peel from excess marmalade feedstock--coat in dark chocolate for something special.

I know the Big Carrot has had candied lemon or orange peel in the past, in their bulk dept., on one of the shelves of items that they bag themselves (i.e.it wasn't in a bin). Not sure if they still carry it, but I would think if anyone in TO has it, they will. I'd suggest calling ahead, and you can always ask to special order if they don't stock it regularly anymore.

Can't confirm that it's organic (not home just now), but I mailordered candied lemon, orange, citron peel, & angelica, made in Italy of fabulous peel & sugar/glucose only - no sulphates or other off-tasting preservatives - from Market Hall Foods in California. Also gorgeous candied flowers from France. Never had better, homemade included.

You got this order shipped to Toronto? Market Hall specifies shipping to contiguous 48 states via UPS. What did you pay for shipping and for UPS "brokerage"?

UPS Expedited is a bit more but avoids the extortionate brokerage charge on US-sourced items.GST still applies.
