We were at Cobras the other night and saw that they created a new(maybe not so new anymore) space out the front entrance called Sgt. Recruiter, it looked cool and people were drinking and eating at the bar.
Anybody been?
What's on the menu?

French wine bar theme, right??

Thanks,
AFS

I really liked the atmosphere, the wine list, and the great personal service; however, I didn't really like the food (though I've heard that the raw oysters are good.) They have a very limited menu so I was surprised that the kitchen did not execute the dishes very well. My steak frites was dreadful: it was the driest, toughest rib-eye that I've ever had.

That being said, I would definitely go back but just order wine (and perhaps the oysters.)

How odd... there's a restaurant on the Ile St.-Louis in Paris called "Au Sergent Recruteur" which is actually quite tasty, if slightly rustic, food. I wonder if the Cobras & Matadors people took inspiration from that, or if it's related.
