New Restraurants in NE Portland

I'm getting together with a couple of friends next week and am looking for something new in NE. Any thoughts about Lolo on Alberta? The reviews on other sites are very mixed. I noticed there is a new restaurant open across the street from Perry's on Fremont, but wasn't able to check out the menu - any thoughts? We're wide open in terms of types of food or price. Fife is my favorite at the moment, but we all need to try something new every once in a while!

The place across from Perry's is Lucca. There has been a thread on it on portlandfood.org: http://portlandfood.org/index.php?showtopic=5754&hl=lucca. You can find the menu on their website: http://www.luccapdx.com. I haven't been either there or Lolo--sorry!

I don't think there's anything else in NE quite like Fife, but have you tried some of the nicer places on Alberta, like Ciao Vito and Alberta Street Oyster Bar?
