6 nights in madrid (student)

I will be in madrid for 6 nights coming up in a week, and Im looking for some affordable, but unique options. Having travelled with the parents(and theyre $) I got used to the good food, but now Im on a modest student budget.

Any suggestions on informal off shoots of the upscale spots, wine bars/bistros, areas that are good for tapas, or whatever else may fit this criteria.

also if you know what to expect to spend per person that would help.
