Sushi around Union Square

I want to order some good-quality sushi for dinner. Price is no object so long as the quality is very good. I don't want to walk anywhere to pick up the sushi - I am only asking about delivery. Any suggestions?

  1. Haru on Park South and 18th delivers, right? It's not bad, provided that, as you wrote, price isn't an object.

    1. I always liked delivery from Azuki. Have heard good things about MIzu but haven't been.

      1. Yama is on 17th St. and Irving--tasty and a good value. However since I do not live in the area, I cannot verify if they deliver. I would definitely give it a try if they do...

Yama does not deliver. I usually call as I am heading home to pick it up.

        2. Forget delivery-go to 15 east.

          1. 15 East is the prime sushi in the neighborhood, but if you're dead set on getting only delivery, Haru and Yama are the best I can think of.

I agree. If you can go out, definitely visit 15 East. The fish is unbelievably fresh and the chef there is fabulous. Sit at the sushi bar, not only will you enjoy great food but the chef tells you about each fish and how/why it is prepared the way it is. If you must order in, then I suggest Haru and you will be happy.

            2. I'm a big fan of Ariyoshi on 13th and Broadway, but I've never ordered delivery from them...

              1. 15 East...hands down, its one of the best in the city period (i rate it right below yasuda / kuruma)...also you must get the octopus appetizer, its amazing (the best octopus dish i've ever had, its so tender b/c they massage the octopus for an hour)

                1. Thanks, all, but I am only looking for delivery options. I don't want to pick up or eat in a restaurant - I want to have sushi delivered to me.

I love Yama but know for a fact that they do not deliver. I ordered from Mizu the other night. The shumai was not that warm (not surprising), but the salmon avocado roll and the spider roll were excellent.

agree that mizu is some of the best in that neighborhood for ordering!
haru is good slightly above average sushi, but the prices reflect it -- id rather pay for haru when im eating in there and getting the ambiance also.
