Sunday's Guelaguetza dinner round-up

  • k

I just wanted to repost things to make it current and easier to find on the thread list, and to ask those who have RSVP'd to me to confirm their attendance. The attendees so far:

Sandra W. & 3 guests
LBQT & guest
Keiko & guest
Stephanie P

Thi, Sandra said you and a friend are a maybe. I don't think it's a huge deal even as late as Sunday PM, but let one of us know as soon as you are in or out.

This'll be great. I'm looking forward to it. If everyone keeps their chips clear of my salsa bowl, no one will get hurt. ;^)

See you Sunday!

I look forward to having you join us when you're done sucking up life through a straw. :)

    2. My wife and I may come, depending on how we're feeling. The last thing I want to do is pass the Flu on to other people, but I think we'll be well by then. At any rate, I'll email you with a definite by tomorrow night.

Chris, sorry I forgot to include you in the maybes. I do remember your earlier post, and I hope you're well enough by then. Take care.

      2. Count me in--now plus two guests.

I haven't been around the LA chowhound forums that much these days, now that I'm living in San Diego. Anyhow, I just found out about this. Is there any way I can still join up? I plan to go by myself, should I be invited. Please let me know, thanks!

I'm a San Diego native--seems like a big SD gathering, Kriss had emailed me that it's fine to RSVP even the day of, so hope you make it!

            1. re: adrian hopkins

Sandra had clued me in that you wanted on board, Adrian, so I had already factored you into the equation.

Seems like a crew of us could compare weekend in San Diego notes ;)

Thanks you for letting me join up on such short notice! See you guys there!

            2. I'll be leaving San Diego about 3:30pm, so barring any traffic disasters, I'll be there ...

Oddly enough, so will I! See you on I-5, hehe.

This is so bizarre....I will be coming back from San Diego in time for Guelaquetza too!!!!

                  1. re: Kriss Reed

Try the toll road (the 73) off of the 405, and bypass a lot of the Orange County traffic on the 5 (it's worth the couple of $$). You can stay on the 405 and cut back into LA on the 605, 710, or 110, depending on how much time you want to spend on the 5; or use the 710 or 110 directly north into the 10, and take the Vermont or Western offramp for easy access to the Koreatown area.

                    1. re: LBQT

That's my route when I head back (SD native)--sometimes I don't take the toll road and take 405 at the split if traffic is light, and just go I-405 to 110, but Toll Road is a good option--traffic can be pretty bad on Sunday evening.
